When Should I Book My Alterations?
Once you've purchased your wedding dress get in touch to secure your alteration dates. Our appointments can be booked up to a year in advance.
Appointment Fee
A £25 appointment fee is charged to secure your appointments. Once dates have been confirmed we will send a secure payment link to the phone number you provided on your booking form. Please note that your dates are not confirmed until the payment has been received. If the payment has not been received within 48 hours of request we will allocate these appointments to another bride.
*This deposit is non refundable if you cancel your appointments, you are a no show or you choose not to use us for your alterations.
First Fitting
Ideally we like to see you 6-12 weeks before your wedding day to start your alteration process. At this initial appointment we take a look at the work involved, give you an accurate quote and answer any of the questions you may have. A 50% deposit is required at this first fitting with the remaining balance split between your second fitting + collection fitting. .

Essentials
You will need to bring your wedding dress, wedding day shoes and underwear to your fittings.
*Please note that we cannot and will not shorten your wedding dress without your shoes. No matter how many tippie toes we see or how many pretty pleases we hear. We pride ourselves on providing you with the perfect fit.
Appointment Timings
Your fitting appointment usually takes around 30 minutes and we respectfully ask that you arrive on time. It’s tricky if you’re late as you will run into another appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late with no contact and we have appointments booked in after you, we will need to reschedule your appointment to prevent disrupting our other clients.
Our appointments can be booked up to a year in advance, during peak season we may not be able to accommodate a reschedule. Don’t want to find yourself seamstressless six weeks before your wedding? Don’t be late. Please + Thank You.
Wedding Dress Alteration Costs
Your dress is unique to you, and as such - it’s tricky to quote before seeing you in it. We don’t offer a one-price-fits-all quote - as we charge for the work that you need to make your dress fit you perfectly. And it will fit you perfectly when you leave us.

Found 'The One'?
Our storage service is perfect for those who have found 'The One' much sooner than they planned. For those who want to store their wedding dress away from home - nobody needs their Mother-In-Law to show all the neighbours before The Big Day! Or simply for the peace of mind to know you cannot forget to bring your dress with you to your first fitting.
Whatever the reason, we've got you.
We charge a one off £50 fee to store your dress. Please note that your bridal alterations are not guaranteed until you've requested your dates + a booking deposit has been secured - even if we're storing your dress.

Wedding Dress Cleaning
Pizza splats, jaegerbombs, a hemline of mud you could grow vegetables in? We’ve seen it all.
If you’d like your wedding dress cleaned please arrange this at your earliest convenience so we have the best possible chance of returning her to her former glory.
I’m getting married abroad, could you pack my dress for me?
Our wedding dress storage boxes are perfect for storing your wedding dress and transporting your gowns to destination weddings.
The cabin baggage allowance for Jet2 and FlyBe accept our travel sized box which measures at: 35 x 55 x 20 cm. But we always recommend you check with your airline before travelling.
We carefully fold your dress in layers of acid free tissue paper and pack securely into our travel boxes. Depending on the size of your dress we can also pack your veil, shoes + jewellery. Seriously, have you seen airports recently? Keep this box with you AT. ALL. TIMES!

Do you do Bridesmaid Alterations?
We do! You can book them in here.
Bridesmaid appointments are carried our in The Studio, whereas your bridal appointments take place in The Sanctuary.
We need a minimum of two weeks for your bridesmaid alterations.
For multiple bridesmaids please book one appointment per bridesmaid.

Guests + Children
We can accommodate one guest to bridal appointments. This allows our bridal seamstresses to offer our brides the best possible service with space to carry out the work required. Please do not attempt to bring more guests to your appointment as they will be turned away. We do not allow guests to swap in & out of the appointment.
Sticky fingers + wedding dresses don’t mix.
We adore little ones at Stitched Up but appreciate the care and attention that they need. Therefore, children under 16 are not permitted in the studio.
Why don’t you answer your phone?
Single handedly the most common question we’re asked.
Sorry if you love a phone call! When we are in The Studio we are either working on dresses or in appointments with brides. Both of which require our undivided attention, answering calls really does have a knock on effect when it comes to concentrating.
I’m sure you’re with us on this one and would prefer for us to put our all into your dresses and your time spent with us at Stitched Up.
Emails are monitored throughout the day and of course anything that does require a phone call is dealt with BUT if you need us please, please, please drop us an email. We see you and we will get back to you. It also helps us to have a paper trail so we always know everything during your appointment.
